Greetings,
We are pleased to see that there is an association of California Lavender growers, but wanted to mention to you that the lavender rows image used in your blog (at http://calavga.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html) is rights-protected. The Oregon Lavender Association has purchased the right to use the photo from the photographer, Christian Rycx. We would appreciate you using a different image, unless you have made arrangements with Mr Rycx to use it.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
Cheryl Wilson
Board of Directors, Oregon Lavender Association.
I am posting this at the request of the Lavender farmers and growers of the Central Coast. California Lavender Growers Alliance is not vested in the state of California as any type of organization. It uses false information and does not seek permission for its content. It appears to be a blog that drives traffic to a storefront owned by Janice Silva for the sole purpose of profits.
ReplyDeleteThis is not a true and legitimate blog post. It has been created by a former lavender grower Janice Silva of Green Acres Lavender Farm in Atascadero, who no longer owns the farm and who does not have permission to use the names of the members she has listed.
She has done so without permission from any of these individuals and has repeatedly been asked to remove their names from her site and blog. Janice continues to miss-lead the public as to her being a lavender farmer and grower. She repeatedly infringes on copyright with photos and content and has been issued a legal cease and desist order in the state of California.
She now lives in the Los Angeles area and does not farm produce any lavender or lavender products on the Central Coast. The new owners of the lavender farm in Atascadero do not have any affiliation with her and she has no rights to the lavender being farmed on that land.
We hope that the content and blog be removed and that the photo used here by our fellow Growers Association in Oregon, be removed as well.
